FACILITATOR FAQ

How much do I need to know about play? -- To get the most out of this experience, we suggest having some comfort with play-based learning. It's not required, but our Playful Leadership Workshops are entry-level experiences that cover the basics.

How much facilitation experience should I have? -- We designed our training to accommodate a wide range of expertise. Before each cohort, we gauge participant abilities customize the material and offer a 10+ module online curriculum to scaffold their learning.

What went into the development of this certification? -- Decades of facilitation experience, game theory and design, as well as hundred of interviews with other practitioners who work with leaders and teams.

What is the difference between attending online vs in-person? -- Aside from the commute to/from the site and lunch break (complementary in person), we try to mirror the experiences closely. The games we pick are often good in both forums, and we emphasize more virtual strategies when training online.

Do I have to continue to the Play Partner training? -- Nope! This is a standalone experience and may be enough for what you need. We recommend becoming an licensed partner if you seek the ability to use our materials to train other people. We're also more likely to select you as a co-facilitation partner for bigger service gigs.

Can I skip the Certification and become a Partner? -- It's possible! We created the offerings mostly to scaffold a learning journey. If you feel confident in your play facilitation expertise, contact us and we'll discuss next steps. We often encourage people to join a cohort to get a better sense of what credits they need to earn to become our Play Partner.

Do you offer private certifications? -- Yes, we can deliver trainings to groups of 4+ people (i.e. team, department, network). Contact us today to for more details, scheduling options, and scalable pricing.

Do you offer discounts or referrals? -- Our pay-what-you-can model aims to make the cost of the program as accessible as possible. Certified members also receive a kickback for each referral that completes the training.

Where have your seen the biggest success or impact? -- Participants join the cohorts for different reasons, from exploring new play methods to accessing our play-based resources (i.e. culture assessments, filterable game database). When people get to try new ideas and give/get peer feedback, we see inspiring bursts of value. We host monthly "Game Salons" to create those community spaces.

HOW DO I JOIN?

Secure your spot in an upcoming cohort to level up your play facilitation skills! We limit each cohort to 8 people to maximize the learning experience.
